Meets Indian Jones, meets Goonies, meets Jaws, meets Close Encounters, meets Stand By Me, meets Firestarter and on and on.
The odd thing is I kept forgetting all of those references and just got drawn into the characters stories. Such strong 3 dimensional characters.

It's like if Sam from Freaks & Geeks was E.T.-style-hiding Charlie from Firestarter, plus a sideplot of a Poltergeist mixed with Alien going on. Works for me!
