But, the truth is, that as a white man you are not automaticly assumed to be a criminal, people probibly dont lock their car doors when you walk by, and the cops are not fearing for their life if they confront you and shoot to kill because they are scared. I once thought as you did. Until i started to hang out with black men and have the car pulled over and searched. A black man in the USA is assumed guilty for just walking down the street, and you are not. Unless you dress like a homeless bum.

Honestly? I have to agree with fork. I've seen prejudice in action with my friends, which made me realize that I was unconsciously doing many similar things myself.
The biggest example of this has to be the time I watched the police beat up a couple of black guys that had been in a car accident. There was a large group of people at the hospital since they were traveling as part of some family event or something and there was a car pile up. At least one of them were brought into the hospital half dead, the others were able to make their own way in with their family members since there were a lot of people injured badly in this accident.
These guys were cut up badly, some had glass sticking out of their skin and many were bleeding profusely enough to where he would need stitches very soon. They had gone through a very bad, scary encounter and now they were in the ER and all they knew was that some of their family was close to death and they had no idea what was going on. Yes, they were loud, but a little more compassion would have gone a long way.
Instead of that, about 2-3 of the men in the accident were handcuffed and laid on the ground, where they were beaten with billy clubs. These were all guys who were cut up badly enough to where they obviously needed to be seen, including the one with chunks of glass in his skin. The police then threatened to arrest the men and gave them all tickets for trespassing in the ER.
Luckily for the police, someone stepped in and told them that what they did had the potential to be one hell of a media nightmare if it ever got out and the police took back the tickets and allowed everyone to be registered. I remember at least one person (not related to them or part of the group) telling them that they should see a lawyer about how they were treated.
I've been in that ER a lot and I've never seen those police officers act like that towards a white person and this includes people that have actually tried to physically harm the hospital staff and been louder than these guys, with less reason to be upset.

I lock my doors whenever a suspicious person passes by, despite of their color.

Same here. I don't care what race someone is, I'd rather be safe than politically correct.

The fact that you bring up "shoot to kill because they are scared" makes me realize you don't know what you're talking about. White people get shot and killed by cops too. Go ahead, look up the numbers.
I don't know anything about the black men you hang out with, but the ones I hang out with don't get unreasonably searched. Maybe the ones I hang out with present themselves better with their demeanor and attire? (Again, I don't know if that's the case because I don't know the guys you hang out with.) Do the guys you hang out with have to hold their pants up with their hands because they're so baggy? I'm suspicious of guys who dress like that, no matter their race.

Um,nothat's not even true. When's the last time you heard of a white man getting shot and killed at a mere traffic stop because the cop overreacted? Get realdon't even try to make comparisons, because there are none.

You didn't Google it like I suggested, did you? The mainstream media doesn't make a big deal about white people getting shot by cops because it doesn't fit the narrative.

What the beep are you talking about? It happens all the time, it just isn't "news" that fits the narrative that the mainstream media and liberals are pushing. It happens, you just don't see it on all your friendly neighborhood leftist propaganda brainwashing stations.
The first transport is away hey!

I agree that the white privilege rhetoric in this country is getting absolutely ridiculous. Everyone wants to be a victim now, and it's annoying. It needs to stop, but it won't. Mob mentality is infectious. All you can really do is be the bigger person and just ignore the people spouting this beep
With that said, as of now, I don't necessarily agree with your opinions that this movie will just fan the flames. It's not even out yet, so most people haven't seen it. I heard it isn't even necessarily about racism in the end. The trailer does give that impression, and there's no doubt it will play a role in who/how many go to see it. But we can't say for sure until we've seen it. Playing the race card to make the movie do well in theaters is kind of cheap, but hey it's a hot button issue right now so ride it while it's hot, right?
So I'd at least wait to see the movie before making assumptions about it and the impact it will have on society.
Plus, its freedom of speech. And as white men who often get told they can't have an opinion because of their gender and skin color, we should be supporting freedom of speech to the fullest.
Not saying you should go see the movie just because of that. If it doesn't look like something you'd enjoy then by all means, don't see it. But I don't think people should be saying films like this shouldn't be made, even if it does add to the white privilege rhetoric in the end.

You've made some good points. I think it will be interesting to see how people react to this movie and threaten to boycott it, versus the movie that liberals are already boycotting that Mel Gibson and Vince Vaugn are going to be in. Why do liberals get the benefit of the doubt "wait and see" but conservative movies are boycotted before there's even a screenplay?

It's the over-sensitivity and PC culture that plagues our country these days. Most of the main stream media leans hard left. And movies especially are expected to pander to the left because Hollywood is all flaming liberals. It's silly and wrong, but it's the way it is. A lot of liberals are hypocrites.
For the record I think boycotting any films is silly. Not everyone has the same opinions. It's all freedom of speech. And it's just art. People need to state their distaste and move along.
I didn't know a Vince Vaughn film was being boycotted. I'll have to look into that!

I'm a white guy, too, and I'll tell you this: if you're a white American male and don't think society's fair enough to you, then you'd never survive being anything else. Not everything is perfect for us, true, but I get really tired of white males (especially Christians) whining about how they have it so hard. If what we get just for being white and male isn't advantage enough for you, then I don't know if
                                  anything
would ever make you feel secure.

I've known White people on welfare, and I've known Black folks on welfare. I've been to trailer parks and White hoods in Baltimore.
I grew up in the projects, Black and Hispanic.
Everyone in America, who isn't rich, has been susceptible to being beep over by the government.
True, White people (on a social scale) may receive better treatment. But, hell, Black folks hate on other Black folks. Skin complexion is still an issue.
                                        Mainly amogst people of color.
Unless you are being systematically oppressed, I don't really see much reason to convince others of your woes.
                                        Everyone has woes.
I think people have been trying to combat racism by putting a face to it, and lately it's been the police or Donald Trump.
The problem is it's too nuanced and elusive.
                                        It's an idea.
No law or president can kill racism.
It's a human condition to blame your problems on those who look different than you
