In fact, it may not only the worst terminator movie to date but actually the worst movie ever made.
These seemingly endless terminator sequels are all based on a similar plot which is basically to justify the movie's own existence: How the plot in the last movie didn't end the myriads of killer robots being sent back in time. How a new and more sophisticated AI system tried to end humanity, and lo and behold, a new resistance leader emerges. Yadayadayada.
Every new terminator robot has to be bigger, better, and more sophisticated than the last. I suspect that each new Terminator director suffer from small penis syndrome.
Dark Fate is particularly ridiculous. Old lady Linda Hamilton is needlessly pulled out of retirement. The Carl character was utterly ridiculous and cringe-worthy. The story is a mess based primarilly on wink-wink-nudge-nudge references to the original movie and T2.
On a side note: I know it's explained that Carl doesn't have a physical relationship with his wife but it's reasonable to assume that she has seen him naked. Does he have a meat-covered robot penis, and if so, what was Skynet's intended purpose for such a device? Or alternatively, is the genital area a blank canvas of skin?!
Edit: What's particularly annoying in this movie is the reunion of Hamilton and Schwarzenegger which has a sort of geriatric Scifi-Con quality to it: The almost flirtatious and misplaced jokingly reproaches from Hamilton - you killed my son, oh you big lovable grandfather-like killer robot!

I get it and I agree with everything you said going into the movie. Maybe not the genital parts, didn't cross my mind, but NOW…
It's definitely NOT a blank canvas. ALL that money to make SUPER life-like cyborgs and they can't spare for sausage? I'm guessing the Skynet developers wanted to "self-project" and give super, but not unbelievable, phalliceses…, phalli(?). You know, a good 10 in with the girth of a cucumber, cut with slight curve upwards (NOT down).
Absolutely zero BO, even after a 5 hour game of outdoor hoops on an August afternoon it'll smell like fresh-picked strawberries finely misted with morning dew.
So, I still enjoyed the movie. I wanted to see how the writers/producers would make 'bigger, better,…' Terminator. I loved that doppelganger stuff. And let my imagination wonder if I was the new Terminator…
…now with my perfectly formed & functional genitals.
I haven't seen the Christian Bale one or that other sequel (I can't remember).
Basically, for me, this time around, I wasn't watching for the movie, I was watching for how they (director & co) would make for an enticing movie, if that makes sense.
New Terminator, fight scenes, set-pieces, Arnie,… that's what I watched for - and enjoyed.
Anyway, I gotta leave work (I have to come in during this COVID crap).
This is my FIRST post since imdb shut down their boards years ago. It's so good to be back.
Wishing that heroes, they truly exist (since 2000) -

You make a good case for the existence of the robot penis, Brandon, and I'm glad you enjoyed the movie! The visuals are certainly impressive, I admit.

Back on topic, I haven’t watched any of the Terminator movies after the first two. I don’t think I’m missing much!
It’s a shame because a terminator reboot with Arnie could be sorta cool…
