Is there ever going to be an African American cast as a central character?

A latina is the new leader of the resistance in Dark Fate. A latino is the new Terminator model sent from a brand new rise of machines from the future sent to terminate the latina.
At what point is there going to be a BLACK character who is central to the plot, has a major role in the story and is in 80% of the story????

How about…
Brian Tyree Henry
I want that actor to have a major role, and be throughout in the new Terminator Dark Fate universe like how Lawrence Fishburn played a major role in the plot of The Matrix.
I wish it would happen. -

Originally OJ Simpson was cast by the casting director as the Terminator in the first. At the time, Simpson was guaranteed a bigger box office draw than Arnold.
James Cameron intervened and said it isn’t a good idea to cast a Black man who goes around stalking and killing white women. This was urban LA in the 80s, they didn't want to perpetuate that image.
The terminator’s human skin is there to make him incognito: considering he’s killing people, making his black skin would make him less elusive and decrease his chances of evading the authorities.
