The USA treasury is swiftly headed into bankruptcy. Big government and small government are coming for your money to pay back debt owed due to socialist policies from politicians/government officials YOU elected. It's predicted that all states will eventually raise Income taxes, property taxes, student loan debts for starters.
So you're worried about me being underemployed. I think you better be worried about the government does with
your
money. Just saying… -

I try to owe a little more than I have in ca$h so it cancels out. We Americans have been overstimulated with covid money. Since it all started, I've received $3,200 in free money. I have some non-cash investments that I hope outperform the dollar. I don't trust Bitcoin in the long-term as it reminds me of the
tulip bulb craze
back in the 1600s.

I meant overstimulated in that the US government had to print a lot of funny money to make it happen and it will likely come back to bite us. BTW, I bought my shotgun right after I got my latest stimulus check. ¡Thanks for the suggestion, Uncle Joe!

I don't think raising taxes on them would help out, Kirk. Our government's deficit is too great. We don't have enough billionaires to really make a dent. Same is true for Canada. The only thing that would make a difference would be if ALL their wealth was confiscated. I don't support that, though.

I'm putting as much money as I can in a savings account where it stays and gains interest on a monthly basis. I've been doing this for over ten years already.

And what have you been earning on that: 1%, 0.5%? Your money should be in stock and bond mutual funds.

The USA headed into bankruptcy???
Sweetie, we passed bankruptcy
YEARS ago
. Our national debt is over
28 Trillion Dollars: $28,000,000,000,000!
And as astounding as that amount is, it's
peanuts
compared to our Unfunded Liabilities
(Social Security, Medicare, etc.)
Those are estimated at
250 Trillion Dollars: $250,000,000,000,000!
And yet our moron politicians just keep kicking the can down the road, and giving away money like the village idiot.

That's not true.
You can't lose money if you spend it internally.
You could give a trillion dollars to a crackhead and it would all go back into the economy. They will put it in the bank, spend it on cars, drugs, places to live, and so on.
That means all of that money will go to pay people for things, they will save it, buy more things, and so on thus stimulating the economy and then all of that money will go back to the government.
The idea of "losing money" is outdated because money isn't something like gold that people can hide in a box. Money is just numbers now and it all gets circulated endlessly.
