I'm contemplating getting my nails done…

Nice! It’s fun to treat yourself. I don’t like those claw nails. All I can think of is how can they wipe themselves without shredding their lady parts.

They always freaked me out. Like Cardi B type nails are just way too over the top and crazy. It isn't just shredding their lady bits, but when they wipe their butt, you can't tell me those nails don't collect….stuff! And then, because I enjoy cooking, I can't help but thinking about them handling food, and all of that cross contamination.
One thing I'd really like to know is if anyone finds them attractive. Like, are there men who find those talons attractive? And then we get into all the gems and designs. They've got to be snagging on every little thing. I sincerely don't understand the appeal - not the way they look, and not the way they feel. I work with my hands, so I need to feel my fingertips and real nails. I can't have long nails.
I don't know if this is controversial or not, but I have an ick. I can't get past long nails on men. I'm not talking about decorated nails; I just mean long natural nails. I have this visceral reaction to them. Do not pass go!

It's a dealbreaker for me. I realize that makes me sound shallow, but it really freaks me out. I went on a blind date with this one guy, and he had long nails. I commented on them (in as neutral a way as I could muster at the time), and his reply was that the women he dated actually liked them.
(Seriously?)
One and done. I couldn't do it. It was a part of him and his identity and he enjoyed them. I have some musician friends who have a few long nails for guitar, but I'm not dating them. It's just one of those things I can't seem to work past.

That's a nice lux way to treat yourself.
Not the long claw types of acrylics or anything, but just regular gel over just my existing nails in a natural, light pink colour.
Sounds sort of what I do if there is a special event going on, although I simply do what I have always done….
I clip my nails short, file them, and then I apply a clear acrylic over them.
My nails have never been my first priority unless the occasion was special… my wedding comes to mind.
On the flip side, it is always nice to treat yourself to something special…
You asked a pretty question; I've given you the ugly answer.

I had them done in this very pale pink last year, and I kept it up for a few months. They looked very natural and my nails just had a nice, sheer, healthy-looking glow to them. I've been letting them just recover on their own, but I was thinking maybe for Spring, something lighter. Also, winter dries my skin out so much, including all around my nail beds, so with the weather warming up, my cuticles are healthier. I figure it'll be fun for a few months.
