So any imagery with three circles in close proximity = "looks like mickey mouse"
Mickey is a large circle with two smaller circles which are the ears. The circles on the watch aren't proportioned like the mickey silhouette. You were looking for something "wrong" with it to begin with. I guarantee you're the only person who's ever looked at that and though "mickey mouse".

Shes not being overtly hostile but its still not nice to go around calling someone's collecting hobby "insecurity".
Perhaps you shouldn't take message boards so seriously….

some like watches and if the person is dressing to impress, then a highly stylish-looking watch is a good accessory.
if the person simply likes the watch, then that is end of.
on the other wrist, if a person is doing a lot of taril activities or hiking then a watch is a tool.
when i was military, we had dive "computers" which by today's standards were caveman primitive. a durable, reliable, utterly practical dive watch therefore was mandatory.
civilian dive watches today at the high end can run $3000 and up. that's LOL phony showwomanship if you ask me. likewise, you can find a Casio for $50 which does the basics to make your dive safe. it's a matter of preference.
or on pure dry land, you can be Alec Baldwin's character in "glenngarry glen ross" where his dress for ultimate sucess is a very expensive watch at the 5:08 mark
