some like watches and if the person is dressing to impress, then a highly stylish-looking watch is a good accessory.
if the person simply likes the watch, then that is end of.
on the other wrist, if a person is doing a lot of taril activities or hiking then a watch is a tool.
when i was military, we had dive "computers" which by today's standards were caveman primitive. a durable, reliable, utterly practical dive watch therefore was mandatory.
civilian dive watches today at the high end can run $3000 and up. that's LOL phony showwomanship if you ask me. likewise, you can find a Casio for $50 which does the basics to make your dive safe. it's a matter of preference.
or on pure dry land, you can be Alec Baldwin's character in "glenngarry glen ross" where his dress for ultimate sucess is a very expensive watch at the 5:08 mark
