In this episode of Star Trek: The Next Generation, some character (I think Geordi, but maybe Picard or someone else) has an extended one-on-one conversation with the ship's computer trying to get it do something solve some problem or perform some search.
The computer keeps saying things like "be more specific". The character becomes increasingly frustrated with the computer, but eventually figures out how to ask the question in the right way so that the computer can work on the problem.
Which episode could this have been?

In Booby Trap, Geordi is trying to get the original design plans for the warp engine. He keeps getting blocked from getting the answers he needs. He eventually decides to use the holodeck to recreate the original design room of the warp engines.

Sorry I guess there are a few other episode to consider, remember when Data was lying to them [clues] and is was great when a year later Whoopi tried to explain to georgi about his crush.
