I used to like light drizzled butter & garlic powder too.
When I could still eat it, I liked light butter & Parmesan cheese.
This is not technically 'healthy' lol, but sometimes I drizzle butter lightly & sprinkle low~sodium dry taco seasoning on it.

Olive oil spray and garlic powder.
Just tried it with coconut oil spray instead. Tasted sort of weird.

                  Hi Muggle,
I normally don't eat too much popcorn, but when I do, i will sprinkle Ms. Dash on it, or butter flakes. I hope you are doing well in your weight loss, sounds like you are. It;s hard work but well worth it.

I dislike popcorn but know some who are watching their fats and salt intake enjoy it with nutritional yeast.
Nutritional yeast looks like fish food, to me, with the coloring of the cheese powder in those Kraft Mac 'n Cheese boxes. It tastes okay but can be gritty if not mixed very well though not an issue if you are sprinkling it dry anyway.

I like a little hot sauce if I do eat popcorn, which isn't all that often.
It's not healthy, exactly, but it's not not healthy either, so

Light butter isn't really healthy, anything light, low fat etc. should be avoided if you want to be healthy. Try drizzling your popcorn with cold pressed extra virgin rapeseed oil, or any healthy fat really, I love using rapeseed because of the colour, the popcorn looks amazing! Rapeseed is also good for cooking the popcorn too as it can be used at higher temperatures than other healthy oils such as evoo.

Thanks for the info. When I said light butter, I sort of lied, it's I Can't Believe it's not butter spray. I've never heard of rapeseed oil. I'll have to look into it, thanks!

I've never been a fan of popcorn or many corn foods in general. I heard/read that sorghum can also be popped so I decided to try it.
I forgot which it was and mistook it for popping buckwheat. That only smoked up the microwave. I then realized it was supposed to be sorghum so I tried it. Just put one fourth of a cup in a regular brown paper bag and fold it over. Place it in the microwave, folded side down, on high for three minutes. I have a "popcorn" button on my microwave but decided to follow the directions and went with the numbers. Take out of the microwave when popping slows, which was about 2 minutes for me. Do though put it on three minutes just in case because you could stop it anytime necessary.
I didn't care for the finished product. It was like the crumbs left in the bottom of the bowl of popcorn. Sorghum kernels are smaller and don't puff up. The flavor was like popcorn, both are bland to me. One thing is that the unpopped corn kernels are hard but the sorghum ones can be eaten. Sorghum is good for many things, it's somewhat like tapioca powder. It has a bit of sweetness.
