What's even more upsetting is how Queen Elizabeth II chose to keep Diana's death a secret from the boys at first. The way she handled everything was horrific. Those boys were so lucky to have Diana as a mother. I'm surprised she flourished in such an oppressive environment.

Not to derail this, but there's also severe pain and trauma in abuse and neglect. I think of that "torture house" in California where the "mother and father" held captive and tortured (and allegedly sexually abused one of) their children. In that particular case, death would have been a release for those poor kids.
In the case of Diana, while we probably know more about her than other royals thanks to her candid and open approach and willingness to buck the system, William and Harry are fortunate she was there during their very early, formative years. Those are the most important.

Lilith, there are so many children who lose their lives to torture and abuse it makes you want to kill the evil scum who do these things
It's criminal how the system lets these children down and how tragic it is that no one saved them -

Did you see those two brothers who are on TV now? There was over a decade of reported abuse and complaints made by the kids that their foster parents were beating them, starving them, putting them in dog cages, stripped naked,β¦.and "the system" repeatedly let these kids down. The couple made a plea deal so they never served time despite all the years of abuse of these two brothers and other foster siblings.
I just saw them on the news either last night or two nights ago.

Sadly, that goes on all the time. In at least one case the social workers are being held accountable for not doing their jobs where this boy died from being beaten to death after being tortured for months
His name was Gabriel Fernandez. Aj was following this case as well -

This absolutely disgusts me. Foster homes are meant to provide safe havens for kids, usually FROM abusive households. Sadly, these couples do it for the cash they get for taking the kids in, and then take their twisted and vicious problems out on innocent kids.
The worst part is when the kids TRY to come forward, no one believes themβ¦

What happened to Gabriel was he was living with his grandparents and doing good, then his **** stain mother decided to take him to live with her and her boyfriend.
His teacher saw the abuse he was going through and made several calls to DSHS, all to no avail. The **** stains would make up lies about how he got hurt and they would keep him in the house of torture -

When paramedics arrived at the boyβs Palmdale home in May 2013, Gabriel had slipped out of consciousness. He had a fractured skull, broken ribs, burned skin, missing teeth and BB pellets embedded in his groin. A paramedic would later testify that every inch of the boyβs small body had been abused.
At Aguirreβs trial, Deputy Dist. Atty. Jonathan Hatami told jurors that the defendant had enjoyed tormenting the boy, forcing Gabriel to eat his own vomit and sleep in a cabinet with a sock gagging his mouth. The torture, Hatami said, stemmed from Aguirreβs hatred of Gabriel, who he suspected was gay.
Can you blame me?
