    Sounds fun! 😝
I understand a lot of what you said - my two start fights with 90% of dogs they pass in the street, regardless of size. My boy will happily pick on a Rottweiler for absolutely no reason and will stand his ground if the enemy barks back at him. I have no idea how they decide who is good or bad but yesterday they were so happy to see a Scottie dog and the three of them spent a couple of minute happily greeting one another. And then two minutes later there was an evil German Shepherd who needed taking down a peg or two πŸ™„
Dogs really can be a handful. It's completely different to having cats, as you have discovered πŸ˜‚

/My boy will happily pick on a Rottweiler for absolutely no reason /
I generally don’t like small dogs. Eventually I’ll get a German Shepherd or maybe a Rott (I took care of a giant one for a month and loved it)
But when I was younger a sh-itzu/peakingnese/asshole dog adopted our family.
Our house had a doggie door and this dog lived across the street.
He kept sneaking in to our house to mate with our rat terrier.
We all hated him because he was barking constantly and was such an arrogant pos. After getting home from school, I had to literally wrap him up in a towel and take him back to his house across the street because he kept trying to bite me.
I hated this dog. We tried blocking the doggie door, but sometimes forgot, and he kept sneaking in and eventually started spending the night.
Fast-forward when we moved to a different house, he moved with us. His owner was fine with it and let us have him.
He became my best friend for a long time and I sadly had to put him down in 2005.
(Need to post a pic when I can get one)
I used to use him as a weapon, holding him on my arm like a gun. I’d make him bite my cousins ,he seemed to enjoy it. 😁
But yes, he would literally attack the dogs all the time. He was insane . She got into a huge fight with a dog that looked something like a dingo on our front lawn and got tore up.
The dog kept picking him up and throwing him but he kept getting up and attacking before we intervened. We had to spend $700 on stitches to put his skin back together.
      Crazy dog.
      RIP Sebastian.

Aww RIP Sebastian. See, at least he had great character even if he was small and crazy!
Luckily my two are very sweet and well behaved most of the time it is just when they see another dog that they go nuts. Or a cat 😱 If we see a cat when we are out I have to actually turn and walk a different way because Toby cannot cope. But sometimes they trot along so nicely down the street and people smile at them as they pass.
Actually another problem I have is grabby children. Toby does not like grabby children one little bit. If a child or the parent does ask if they can stroke them, I hold Toby back and push Molly forward because she is fine with random grabbings. But not Toby 😬

Parents need to teach their kids to ask dog owners if it's ok to cuddle their dogs. Adults too. Just because a dog is chill doesn't mean it likes getting that kind of attention from random strangers.
Cats just gap when they see young children. πŸ˜…

They really do. I couldn’t count the amount of times I’ve had kids and adults stroke them without even acknowledging me and I really can’t predict if Toby will snap at them or not. Just because a dog is small and cute does not mean they are a teddy bear.
When I had my little puppy who died, a woman actually picked him up. I was outside a shop waiting for someone and this woman came and just scooped him up shrieking at how cute he was. It was so unexpected and crazy 😑

I always ask. And I've seen others do it too, so it's slowly becoming custom.

I’ve even had kids come up and β€œbark” at them. People are idiots.

Anything from 3 to 10 I guess. Although I say kids but at my sister's birthday when Toby was only about a year old, there were fireworks in the garden and he was scared and so my ex was holding him and my sister's friend (probably not far off 30 years old) came up to him and "barked" in his face. My ex told her to **** off.

Wow. Your ex's response was correct. Your sister's friend is an arsehole.

My grandchildren know to ask if they can stroke a dog and a lot of owners will say if their dog is friendly. I'm not keen on those extending leads though, where the dog can run up to you and the owner is miles awayπŸ˜’

I used to have a Dalmatian and kids would always be running up to us excited and screaming. Luckily he was friendly, but they didn't know that. Stupid parents! And if he had bitten anyone, it wouldn't have been good for us.

Dalmations are beautiful but there aren't many around, I've heard that they shed a lot.
I feel like I've already told this story but when I was growing up on a farm we had a dog who was a pet but first and foremost a working dog. He was very protective and loving to those of us he considered in his pack but waey of strangers!
My young cousin was there with his mum and he was teasing the dog, my own mum said to her that she should stop him doing it because the dog could bite him…long story short the little brat got bitten and my aunty wanted us to have the dog put to sleep. My mum was just like "Fuck off bitch, you didn't control your kid so tough ****", she didn't use those
                              exact
                              words obviously!

Dalmatians shed quite a bit, but what makes it worse it that their hair is barbed so it really sticks to fabric. They need A LOT of exercise too and if they don't get it they can be destructive. Mine was really well behaved loved everyone.
                                Good fo your mom!

Unfortunately Disney has ruined certain dogs breeds over the years and Dalmatians have really suffered because of the popularity of 101 Dalmatians.

This is what terrifies me. I always keep Toby on a tight leash when there are kids around that he could potential snap at but when they come grabbing at him it is very difficult. And it's not gonna be them who get the blame if he does bite.
