                Whose territory is the moon?
                And there goes the Earth.

Sorry, I've no idea what the current
                  lunar-claim-staking
                  situation is.
A few years ago, you could buy paper shares in the moon from shady businessmen.

Perhaps we need to include octopuses and orcas in the distribution negotiations?

I didn't know what moon perls are.

                            Whose territory is the moon?
Meanwhile watched another video in my language.
Basis for taking possession of extraterrestrial territories is the
                            Outer Space Treaty
                            from 1967 (OST).
According to this treaty nobody/no country can own outer space areas.
                            BUT: You can
                            'secure'
an area for different reasons, especially science.
                            https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Outer_Space_Treaty
Currently, everyone targets the lunar south pole because water (as ice) could be there.
Water is also needed for the nuclear reactors.
Maybe I'm just in my pessimistic
                            glass-half-empty
                            mode.
Listening to all this, the old saying came to mind:
"No contract is so good that it cannot be broken."

obviously the size of such a reactor will be tiny, since the difficulty in not only getting to the moon is large but building is damn near impossible. i'm guessing a compact " turnkey" system…. but im also worried that Trump will award the contract to the usual ineptoids who surround him like sharks feeding on bait fish, and a nuclear incident a la the campy british tv series, Space: 1999

Nuclear reactors melt down. They don't explode like in Space 1999.
The reactor core can blow up if the relief valves fail shut but it wouldn't be enough to do much physical damage. It would release a lot of radioactive particles, though.

                                        Strange Lunar Cloud puzzles Researchers
For ten years, researchers wondered why the moon is surrounded by an asymmetrical bell of dust.
Now they may have found the answer.
We always see the same side of the moon because it revolves around the Earth and its own axis.

                                          Moon Landing Plan changed
"Launching a lunar rocket every three years is not a strategy consistent with success,"
NASA Administrator Jared Isaacman said in a video posted Friday, Feb. 27 on social media site X.
"This is by far the lowest launch cadence in the history of America's space program."

Elon Musk's SpaceX and Jeff Bezos' Blue Origin develop Landers
Both billionaire-owned SpaceX and Blue Origin are under contract with NASA
to develop lunar landers for future astronaut missions to the moon's surface.
SpaceX, which Musk founded in 2002, is working on a configuration of its Starship spacecraft
that can meet astronauts on the Orion capsule in lunar orbit and ferry them to the surface.
Blue Origin, owned by Amazon founder Bezos, is also working on its Blue Moon lander –
an uncrewed Mark 1 version of which could make a lunar landing in 2026.
