Coronado High School was stripped of its 4A boys basketball championship Thursday following a racist act from players directed at opponents from Orange Glen High School in Escondito, a largely Latino school.

Well, first Mexicans are a nationality, not a race. Mexicans can be white, mixed, indigenous etc.
What would it be called if they threw pizzas at an Italian team? A pizza party?

Having grown up in So Cal, with a friendly mix of whites and Latinos and Asians, I find it hard to believe the Latino team took much offense.
But I am a bit shocked that the Coronado team would be so lily white to treat Latinos like aliens. I went to an affluent high school, but there were plenty of Latinos.
