I absolutely love this song. All covers are great, but I particularly enjoyed the third one. The talent contest thing… there are so many of those, and from different countries, but it's the girl in the blue checked shirt. Maybe it was the reactions she was getting. Maybe it was the fact that she was sitting while performing it.
It's such a powerful song, if I hadn't seen it, I would assume that you need to stand to sing it.
In any case though, great song, and yes, this is what I would call a sign of our times.
