β 6 years ago(May 04, 2019 03:18 AM)I love Basketball but I see why people only watch the 4th quarter of games. The game is over-officiated. Any minor contact is a foul and the game stops. I remember even as late as the early 2000s more contact was allowed by officials and the game could go on for six or more possessions without stopping. You rarely see that in the NBA as currently officiated. Refs will stop the game for contact between players who are nowhere near the ball and players get in foul trouble 5 minutes into a game.
Foul shots are the least exciting aspect of games but I feel the way Run and gun offenses have revolutionized 3 point shooting, itβs now the most exciting play in Basketball . All the kids I see playing basketball are emulating Steph Curry , and not players renown for thier low-post game.
Id really like to see Boston play Golden State in the finals.

Same thing happening in the NFL. Another reason (besides the whole kneeling thing) why attendance and viewership is declining. -

β 6 years ago(May 04, 2019 03:43 AM)I feel thereβs a difference because the NFL can make up for it in certain facets of the game : Hits, huge swings on defensive plays , special teams TDs etc: Elements of excitement and momentum changes.
The NBAβs offensive revolution has Made the game a track meet and elimated half court basketball. There are very little exciting moments outside of three point shots and buzzer beaters.
An NFL game is infinitely more exciting.
On thing the NBA has going for them is that they market thier players way better than the NFL ever could market theirs.
