      Jamie Vardy on £100k
Southampton are one of the smartest clubs out there. It's no surprise to me that they pay their goalkeeper a lot of money, goalkeepers are consistently underpaid across football.

Relatively speaking these guys don't make that much money. I realize that the richest football league in the world is still just a small national league but still the average major league salary is higher than the bottom third of this list and mediocre major leaguers with one decent season under their belt often make more than almost everyone on this list. Makes me wonder what sort of peanuts the guys in league 1 not playing for PSG make.

It's worth nothing that this isn't a list of the top earners in the Premier League. It's just the top from each club, the top 20 would probably be comprised of players exclusively from United, Chelsea, City and maybe Liverpool. I'd expect Arsenal pay about 15 players more than anyone in the bottom third of the list.

Couthinos 150k pounds a week comes out to about 10 million dollars a year. There are over 120 major leaguers who make at least 10 mil a year. there are about 30 guys in MLB who make more than Rooney. The average wage in MLB comes out to about 62,000 pounds a week. Roster size between MLB and the premier league are roughly the same and MLB revenue per team is only about 150% of the premier league. Frankly premier league players seem a bit underpaid.

I am not sure how many footballers are on more than 10mill a year- but I would guess at about 250 worldwide
A direct comparison to a league that is a monopoly to one league of about 15 top paying leagues ( some can only pay a few huge money - MLS/China/Russia)
Even turkey pay high wages in the top clubs. Then you have all the rest
But heck if baseballers earn more - fair play i suppose. Even though I think both sports are a disgrace when it comes to wages..
obviously the pound has lost about a quarter of its value in the mast 8 months - so figures are kind of screwed when looking at recent figures - and it very much depends on the exact point of comparison.
