The Falcons dominated the Panthers most of the game and when Carolina had a bit of momentum and looked to be sneaking back into the game Matt Ryan and Tevin Coleman only needed 2 plays to cover 86 yards to put the game away. Atlanta only needed a Bucs loss or a win next week to clinch the division.
Who would have thunk the much hated Saints would help out their long time rival by beating Tampa Bay thus making Atlanta NFC Champs and 3rd seed in the NFC? 3rd seed until.
Arizona beats former 2nd see Seattle in the most unlikely of places Seattle. How could the refs have allowed that to happen?
Did seattle miss a payment? Bagman have too much eggnog perhaps? Ot perhaps Santa knew Atlanta fans have been very very good for a long time?
Who knows what next week holds but I'm just enjoying the holiday spirit for now.
    Brotherhood not neighborhood. Rise Up!!!!

Saints won't be in a helpful mood next weekthey'll be trying to knock Atlanta out of that #2 seed.
Either Packers/Falcons or Falcons/Cowboys would be great playoff games.
      OMLMTM!

You are correct. Saints would love to spoil it for Atlanta. The pressure is off now though so I'm not worried. The Falcons offense will be a challenge for any team to stop right now so bring it NFC.
Only question is would a bye hurt momentum or would a week to rest be beneficial.

Looking like the 1998 Vikings team that lost to the Falcons.

No. Dallas is looking like that 1998 Vikings team and they may get an opportunity to lose to Atlanta as well.

Cowboys have a good D and running game and have scored 366 points. Falcons 502 with a blistering passing attack. Vikings scored 556 points in one more game, also a passing juggernaut.

Atlanta is still the team with the money kicker. Dallas is the highly favored team like the Vikings were. Your point is valid though. Both Atlanta and 98 Vikes have high powered offenses.
