Don't know if I could stomach Gosling and Stone prancing around and singing for a couple hours but I am curious. I like Gosling OK. He's a solid actor. And I've usually enjoyed his film choices. Don't think I've ever seen a movie he was in that I didn't enjoy to some extent.
Guess he's my reverse Colin Ferrel. Also think he's a good actor but haven't liked anything I've seen him in since Hart's Warand that was only average.
According to me, yes. I am the person it's usually according to when I'm talking.

Hard to say, Whiplash was pretty damn good. But at this very moment, I'd wage La La Land. Chizelle's direction exceeds what he showcased in Whiplash, it looks wonderful, and it's a delicate mixture of classical and modern, and manages to do so without overly indulging in the "classic."
I'm not a fan of musicals but I really, really enjoyed this one. If Musicals are to become a thing again, this is a
damn
good way to start.

This is why I can't trust this board when it comes to opinions on anything. My gf dragged me to this film and it was one of the worst pieces of sht I've ever seen on film. I could barely stay awake watching this overdramatized self-serving pipe dream of every single struggling actor and musician in Hollywood.
I'm making a mental note of everyone in this thread that likes this film or shows interest in it so I know to avoid their opinion on anything else in the future.
