    Might sound like a noob, but it seems like I can't play PS4 games online without paying £40? Have I missed something? I remember it being free on PS3.

          It certainly does. Sure, if you know that you'll be playing online for an entire year at a time, then that's the cheapest option.

            Yes, it's rather lame.
            But get the annual subscription. It's the cheapest one and at the end you're always gonna end with online. It's almost mandatory these days.

              Yes, but it depends on the game. The last 4 multiplayer games I played (Battlefront, Overwatch, Driveclub VR and EVE Valkyrie) worked just fine without PS Plus.

                Yes, but you get some games for free each month once you pay for the service.

                  I usually get the 3-months PS+ deal, which only costs like £10-£15 on Amazon.
