House of Usher (1960)
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0053925/
Corman's first adaptation of a Poe story. Feels a bit campy, but chilly.
Halloween (1978)
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0077651/
The original and the best of the franchise. Excellent score.
The Sugarland Express (1974)
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0072226/
Spielberg's theatrical feature directorial debut. Very entertaining fugitive movie starring Goldie Hawn.
No Hard Feelings (2023)
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt15671028/
Actually quite funny.
Are You There God? It's Me, Margaret. (2023)
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt9185206/
Very charming coming of age story for a teen girl. Could be Rachel McAdam's best. Hope it will be consider for at least screenplay consideration during the award season.
The Woman in the Window (1944)
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0037469/
Edward G Robinson was great in the excellent suspense.
To Have and Have Not (1944)
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0037382/
Slow build up in the beginning, but gotten very interesting 2nd half. Humphrey Bogart played a similar guy as in Casablanca. Lauren Bacall's film debut.
Out of the Past (1947)
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0039689/
Excellent movie with a complicated story of betrayal. Just about an hour and half, but a lot went on. -

OLIVER TWIST (1982)
The characters are played a bit differently than in other productions. George C. Scott is severe as Fagin and dresses more gentlemanly. The setting is good but the 1948 version will always be the go-to version for most.
A WOMAN'S SECRET (1949)
Maureen O'Hara plays a singer that can no longer give good performances. Strangely she wants to live her life by encouraging an upcoming singer who is also a love rival to her. But she becomes involved in a shooting. -

Cube (2021) - A remake of the Canadian movie. Cube should have been Japanese to begin with. They make a lot of strange horror films and Cube fits right in with those but this version is inferior to the original.
Pioneer (2013) - It's about Norwegian divers constructing the first pipeline to transport oil from the North Sea. I liked the diving parts of the movie, the thriller parts were bland and directionless.
Incendies (2010) - Mostly good, but too heavy for my tastes.
I don't see any point in ramping up the melodrama so much. After a while it loses effectiveness, can even become ridiculous and counter your intended effect. -
