French voice actor and dubber Michel Barbey was active in French film beginning in the 1940s, with supporting roles in comedies and dramas and a rare starring part as the title character in 1950's Dominique. He died in France on January 24th. Born in Drucourt, Eure, France on April 23, 1927. He played a doctor in the 1964 Jean-Paul Belmondo war film Week-end à Zuydcoote (with Raoul Delfosse) but by the seventies and eighties was busiest as a voice actor, dubbing several Spaghetti Westerns and lending his voice to French animated features like The Time Masters and Asterix Versus Caesar (as one of the centurions). He also dubbed Xanatos on Gargoyles, the cyclops in Hercules, Mon-Star on Silverhawks, Roach Coach and other villains on The Powerpuff Girls, Taurus Bulba on Darkwing Duck, and leads on various anime series.
Barbey was the French voice of Bud Spencer in several of his films.
