The rocker, 74, appeared on an episode of the Joe Rogan Experience and shared that he tells his five kids that they don't have to work. Mellencamp is dad to daughter Michelle, 55, whom he welcomed with ex-wife Priscilla Esterline; daughter Teddi, 44, and Justice, 40, with ex-wife Victoria Granucci; and sons Hud, 31, and Speck, 30, with wife Elaine Irwin.
"I'm the only father in the world that does not encourage their kids to work," jokes Mellencamp. "It's like, what do you want to go to work for?"
However, Mellencamp's kids didn't heed their dad's advice. The "Jack and Diane" singer says his son Hud graduated from Duke University.
"It's just like, f— that work stuff. Do what you want to do. You're 31 years old. You're handsome. You're 31 years old, you could beat anybody up in the room," says Mellencamp. "But I think he's getting to the age where he wants to get a job."
"And I don't want him to leave because he still lives on my property. And it's nice. I love having him there," he continues, adding that it's nice to be able to pick up the phone and have one of his kids come over quickly.

I agree. It's a lie the ones who control society tell people..that you have to work for money. Have you ever seen Mellencamp work? Have you ever seen Springsteen work? Or any of those famous people? The wealthiest people don't work, yet they have money.

Working with the public sucks
Most people are nice but there's always going to be assholes
It also depends where you work. If it's in an area with retirees you're not going to get a lot of shoplifters
A lot of places don't want to hire security so people get away with stealing

It's nice that his son 'Speck' still loves him even after giving him a stupid name.
I am sure that Speck got a whole lot more than that from his dad.
But back to these posts I keep reading about you letting well hung black males ski the slopes of Uranus, why do you let those guys do that?
