Get beyond Trump. The bank I work for is located there. I would have to be licensed and learn the language.

I just thought that when you said bank, well, you meant bank.
The folk I know get the usual deal. Serviced apartments, club memberships and access to areas where they don't have to worry about the minutiae of everyday life.
If you are renting yourself that's a whole different kettle of fish.
Condo too, you'd be looking for something in the West, between Ingliston and Corstorphine, or down by the river. The Old Town and the New Town have rules against such buildings, far too shoddy looking for the prestige and heritage represented there -

Dunno my dude, 90,000 USD is 67K in UK money which, after tax leaves you with £49K to spend as you see fit.
From that you'd need rent which, depending on what you can live with, isn't very cheap in Edinburgh. Even student accommodation is well noted to be astronomical. AirBnB aren't allowed there any more as tourists are more than happy to splash out an awful lot for short term stays and so prices generally are very high in Summer (Fringe festival) and Winter (Hogmanay) with other attractions like Beltane keeping that lift decent between.
A decent house/flat will be half your income and then there's all the other costs which add up quickly
I'd say, if you didn't save, you would have about £1,000 a month to play with.
That's a couple of concerts, a few meals and the odd night out per month. Some can get by on that, especially if you are busy at work. But it's not a lavish lifestyle -

You work in the uk you should pay uk taxes.
We have a tax treaty, in the end you pay the the federal and state rate of your home state. If you are over deducted by the Uk government, you get a refund. -

Yes, and when you are in the UK you have access to the police, healthcare, lawyers, education and all the other things that come with the accommodation. They aren't optional and you will be charged for them
I'm sure if you, and your bank, were serious about having Edinburgh offices and US employees working in them this would all be known already
