I agree it can look odd when all lined up, but that doesn't really bother me, to be honest I prefer the look of them with the cover as it hides the big blu-ray banner.
Plus if you ever wish to sell a blu-ray on, many collectors will pay a little bit more for a disc that includes the slip-cover.

Some are unique (like the one for The Dark Knight), others have raised lettering, some I cut up and use for oversized post cards.

I take them off and put them in a box in the closet. That way if I need them they are there in good shape.

I had no idea there was an IMDb board for this topic! Guess I haven't checked the new boards/Main Boards page in some time.
I would keep the covers but I keep way too much stuff anyway.

Yes! I've always been a big fan of the slipcovers, especially the ones that Disney puts out. They look nicer and I think they make the special editions even more "special." A lot more movies have them now, but they still stand out with certain releases.
Oh, and I thought I was the only person that checked for scratches and other marks! I like going to Target for mine. Whenever I do get them there, I kinda walk around the aisle and inspect every inch of the slipcover. I try to do it in a way that makes it less obvious to others what I'm doing.
I even used to keep all of my Disney special editions in bubble wrap. haha
If I said I want your body now, would you hold it against me?

I don't mind them, some add a little something extra. Have you checked out the Inception slip case ? Very cool.

I keep them, my shelves look odd anyway with a mix of LPs, CDs, 7-inch singles, books, VHS tapes, DVDs and Blu-rays in no real order.

Keep 'em, they are part of the package.

                      I keep them, of course.

Inception is also available in a steel case. As is the original True Grit. Best Buy once had a sale on steel case movies. Much better than annoying slip covers.

                          I would keep the slipcovers.

I think they look odd too. I've tossed all of minebut then again I don't display my movies in the factory boxes. I combine mine into sets/spanning spines created on custom DVD/BR sites that are far superior.

Don't ask me why I have saved almost all the slipcovers in a box.
