because "real communism" is impossible at a large scale or long term when it involves humans on planet earth
it's a fantasy used to manipulate the naive
before communism, they called it
utopianism
and with many other names before that
instead of consuming bias confirming fantasies in a carefully curated echo chamber, try reading about how snake oil is sold to the public through emotional advertising and then apply that knowledge to EVERY narrative you've been sold over the years. -

ok but i still think Marx's ideas to be the noblest set of ideals ever penned by a political thinker. where else in political literature do you find thinkers saying that we were going to end all forms of human exploitation? wage exploitation, exploitation of women by men, the exploitation of people of colour by white people, the exploitation of colonial countries by imperialist countries. and Marx spoke of the fact that socialism will be the kingdom of freedom, where humans realise themselves in a way that humankind has never seen before.

and i was going to write out a thoughtful reply to sophie because i do agree there are some noble ideas presented, but it seems she's just agreeing with whomever seems to have a tone that she thinks matches or helps the argument of the tribe that radicalized her. in which case, i'd just be creating content for nimda and an audience i'm not particularly motivated to spend my time speaking to today.
but i will say you've surprised me anthony, since you forgot to end your reply with some sort of bland rage-baiting insult this one time. -

People like Fugazi and Sophie are complete hypocrites. Both play the identity politics game, they don’t hold everyone to the same standard. It’s evil when white people are racist but when black people do the same, it’s okay.
