Easily the best of the Jaws sequels.

At least
Jaws 3-D
had originality, however laughable some might see it. The overall concept isn't that bad. Anyway, the main complaint I hear about
Jaws 3-D
is the special effects and cinematography being bad and the film having a campy tone. OK fine, from a technical standpoint it's dated, and hasn't translated well into 2-D format but it's still more entertaining than
Jaws: The Revenge
.
While there is a fair bit of talent on-board with the cast in
Jaws: The Revenge
, their performances are still very phoned in to the point that they appear sleepwalking through the horrendous script that might play well in taking a few cues from the original 1975 film, but it makes a complete mockery of it and itself in total. And the special effects are just as horrendous as in
Jaws 3-D
if not more, but with the ridiculous concept, I don't think even good special effects would've been able to save it. It was an idea that shouldn't have been greenlit.
Redundancy at it's worst. -

Hey you should make your link below i.e. signature into a link
Anyhow, I agree It is the best, and isn't a bad movie on its own More of an investigative suspense combined with teenage body count horror.
Here's my writeup:

Not only is
"Jaws 2"
the best of the Jaws sequels, it is also probably better than the numerous "monster movies" that the original
"Jaws"
spawned (Orca, Piranha, Grizzly etc).
I feel bad that it is rated so low here on IMDb. It should be above 6.

While Jaws is without a doubt one of the ten best american films off all time, this movie has plenty of scares. I was eight when this film came out and genuinely cringed every time the shark was on screen. His 'deformity' as a result of the explosion only added to his(or her) menace.
If the first movie is a 10, and it is in my book, this one is a solid 7.5. It would probably be higher if it's successor didn't have the trifecta of Quint, Brody and Hooper thus creating an impossible standard to live up to. -

I always thought Jaws 2 was a great sequel in its own ways. I was really young when it came out (I saw it at a drive in the first time) and the story on the teenagers was fun and engaging. I also liked that Brody's character developed further, and I thought the scenes of him out in the boat by himself were great ("I'm all alone out here", etc). Roy Scheider plays an anxious character so well, you can't help but root for him..
Plus you get more of the shark. As perfect as the first movie was with suspense, the time the shark popped out from the kelp at those divers in this film scared the living crap out of me when I saw it the first time (and anytime I can see weeds or plants in any real body of water will always remind me of that scene forever and ever).
Also, the first time that burned corpse rose up out of the water when Brody was trying to get that piece of wood made my girlfriend scream at the top of her lungs one time. Not bad for sequel. -

This is the only sequel with any really scary and suspenseful moments in it, so yeah it's by far the best of a generally bad bunch.
You've seen Guy Standeven in something because the man was in everything.
