Those guys at the AV forums helped me out a lot with mine. Some guys there will spend $17 grand on a receiver. My Onkyo and 2 JBL Tower, 3 Polk Audio center and rear Towers are enough for the neighbors to hate me and I don't even have a subwoofer…

Hard to say as I didn't buy it all at once. The subwoofer and center channel are leftover from my old 5.1 setup. I got that subwoofer at Circuit City in 2001. Lol
The receiver is a 7.2 receiver and Atmos compatible. It was about $400 at Costco.
I got the speakers online as I used the same brand for my old 5.1 setup and I liked them. But I did upgrade from 6" to 8" speakers. A set of 6 for around $200.
I'm also adding another subwoofer, but I forgot how much it is as that's wrapped up with the cost for getting the speakers wired/installed in the ceiling.

True. My old 5.1 Dolby/DTS receiver was from 2002 and it still sounds great. The only reason I updated is that newer Blu Rays tend to have 7.2 soundtrack with no 5.1 option, and they don't sound right on my old setup.
Plus, I needed a receiver with HDMI capability.
That said, my 5.1 setup would still destroy the current soundbar/subwoofer setup most people opt for these days….

I have been working either here or in my garden. I took out a bunch of disgusting gravel and wheeled in soil. NOW I have clover and wild flowers growing! SO it takes more work.
You getting plenty or rest and fluids? Where did it hit you most? When I had it I got a sore throat but manageable. Get better! -

I have a ton of herbs out there. The clover and wildflower is new.
Oh good you aren't bad. I just had a sore throat maybe two days. My daughter too. THe rest were asymptomatic.
