There is no "British accent". Depending on where you live, the accents are incredibly different! I can understand them all and love them all. The only one I have a difficult time understanding is Scouse.

There are dozens of British accents you know. I assume you're talking about the upper class London accent like how the royal family speak.
The cockney accent on the other hand sounds pretty manly.
