I'm an Ethernet diehard myself. Even when I was designing industrial Wi-Fi systems for clients, I never connected one to my home network because I knew how insecure it was. Since then things have improved somewhat. Now that I have a substantial number of devices that have no Ethernet capability, I've reconsidered. I still don't store data or do my banking for example using wireless devices mainly because they're too easy to steal
and
eavesdrop on.
You shouldn't have any problems with your neighbors if you use strong encryption and long, random keys. Turning off SSID broadcasts and MAC blocking can help too. While I can well afford to use more wireless data, IME the performance indoors can be inconsistent. After being spoiled by quick cable modem service, it's hard to give that up! -

Imo, Metro PCS because you don't have to sign a contract with them and they have unlimited data plans. Plus, their phones are more affordable. You can't beat that.

I need to clarify Lucy, T-Mobile has unlimited data plans. You just have to pay for them. I am assuming (maybe incorrectly) that you are saying Metro PCS has free unlimited data plans. -

No, I mean Metro PCS has unlimited data plans that you pay on a monthly basis.

That is what T-Mobile has. I think it is 1GB for free, 3GBs for $10/month, 5GBs for $20/month and unlimited data for $30/month, on top of whatever your monthly premium is.

The only thing I don't like about the T-Mobile data plans (other than you have to pay for data) is if you go up in data, you cannot go back down. You are stuck paying for more data. -

Doesn't Metro PCS like reduce your 4G down to 3g after a certain amount of data used?
They use T-mobile's line. I'm on T-mobile with my sister's family plan. Thats what they do to us

And to add too the conversation, IMO, Verizon
I'm on t-mobile because i'm on my sister's plan. It works for me in my area
But it was terrible when I visited my friend in connecticut. There was almost no reception on my phone in his entire city. my sister had to purposely only talk to me on facebook messenger over while I was out there. When I went to a mall 2 cites over with a t-mobile store, the employee said they had 0 customers in my friend's city over the same reason
I had Verizon in 20005 and 2006. Switched from t-mobile for the same reason. Had no reception in my own home. Had to travel 2 miles to get reception

I do get text messages from Metro reminding me when I have 10% or 0% of my monthly 4G data bucket left. If I want to get more 4G data speed, I would have to add $5 Data Top Up or upgrade my plan. I'm on my family's plan.
