Yes, they planned a coup against the most powerful government in the history of Earth and all these gun loving right wingers attempted it without bringing their guns.
PM me, I've got a great deal on a bridge for you.

They believed the executive branch of the most powerful government in the history of Earth was on their side and would tell the police to stand down. Trump enjoyed the chaos they caused but he never cared about these people or else he would have sent in the military to PROTECT them.
EDIT: Also, the Oath Keepers brought a huge cache of weapons to Virginia in case they needed them:

Yes, they technically didn't bring them into D.C., but the point is these people were prepared to go to war if need be. -

Q: Do you know who has even larger caches of weapons that are actually in D.C.?
A: The U.S. Government.
Q: Who knows the above information?
A: Everyone.
I'm not saying that Trump and all these politicians and their cronies aren't trying to stir up division and distractions. What I'm saying is that the actual plebs that were attending were 99.999% did not show up to attempt anything extreme. -

I already addressed this point. I will not repeat myself.

So the hundreds of people charged with federal crimes din do nuffin? -
Clever Hans — 1 year ago(January 26, 2025 09:21 PM)
People can be charged with crimes, then it's one person's story vs another person's story. This is what gets argued in court.
The fact is people can own guns. That isn't a crime. The fact that the people who are being accused of such thought-crime attended
without
bringing any tools that would required for an insurrection vs a government with enforcers with massive stockpiles of killing devices tells the story that they weren't there with the intention of bringing about a violent overthrow of that government.
You can still be left leaning or whatever you want to call it, but you can also admit that quite a bit of this is hyperbolic politically charged non-sense. -
Clever Hans — 1 year ago(January 26, 2025 09:46 PM)
Yeah, it says a bunch of knuckleheads kept a stockpile of 15(?) guns in Arlington "just in case". That's not exactly a crime. Bringing them to the Capitol would have been a crime. The government keeps an arsenal of weaponry and military hardware within arm's reach "just in case". But that's okay too, right?
There was a guy who was arrested for a handgun, but he didn't even enter the capitol.
And even after people were shot and killed by police, no one went, grabbed their guns and started anything resembling a coup. Just do a quick search on the internet about what a real coup looks like. There are plenty of pictures. You may need to turn off your safesearch though. -

Those links all get their talking points from the same source. You could research how this works, but I understand that is outside the scope of what you want to do here.
If you look through those articles, they do say the same thing over and over. That doesn't make it more true.
When it comes down to it, they picked up 2 people for actual weapons charges. I'm not including anyone employed by the government btw. One was an ex-military guy who never entered the Capitol and the other was a nut. This doesn't support the argument that there was a coup. I know movies tell you that one lone hero can change the world, but it really doesn't work like that in real life. -

No it doesn't. Just do your own research by following the money. It's not rocket science. But it does mean one has to set aside their emotions and open their mind a bit.
Internet kooks can be partially right, part of the time. And so can mainstream sources. Both can also be really wrong. Especially when it come to what is right for a person, individually. -

following the money
There isn't a capitalist conspiracy to oppress us. There's NO conspiracy to oppress us. Those who want to oppress us are saying out loud that they want to.

Well, I will backtrack and say that not everyone who is non-mainstream is a kook. It's just that usually when randos on the Internet tell me to do my research that's what they mean. -

Nope. We have a wannabe dictator in power who is open about his admiration of dictators. Some of the top capitalists may lick his boots publicly, but in the end he wants to curtail free trade which is bad for capitalism. How did we get here? No one who wants to make big money asked for this situation. -

He's an admirer of Putin, Xi, Kim. He thought that Hitler's generals were loyal to him and expected the same treatment. What more do you need to know? -

More fake leftist narratives.
He thought that Hitler's generals were loyal to him and expected the same treatment.
You won't find actual evidence of him saying that. Just the words of people who hate him, and you'll happily accept that at face value because it supports your predetermined narrative.

I think we probably need to define what a conspiracy is.
Also, every government and large corporation wants to curtail free trade. -

every government and large corporation wants to curtail free trade
Why would large corporations want to go against their self-interest? -

Large corporations are interested in monopoly. Government regulations help create an environment where that can be enforced.
