I’m doing this because my games are all of a suddenly lagging out of nowhere. How could offline games have lag spikes on a PC? It’s even lagging on the PlayStation Remote Play app, which never suffered from these issues before.
How could I make this reset quicker?

Do you mean the CPU is spiking? Sounds like something else is taking up your resources
If you are on Windows, have a look at your task manager to see what is going on

I fixed it by waiting out the reset. I had to set it as a new PC, and it finally erased McAfee and Norton from my laptop. Those two bits of software caused it to crash.

It’s annoying, but you have to give it time. An alternative would be that you could bank up those Microsoft points, and purchase a laptop. Or… you could exchange those points for a mobile device, and that’ll give you access to remote play. How many points do you have?

I have a grand total of 208,898 Microsoft Rewards points, which is barely anything. That’s like $20.

False. You can get a Microsoft Store card for 95,000 points if you’re a level 2 member, so you have roughly $220 in Microsoft Store credit. That might not be quite enough for a PC on its own, but you have more options than you realize.
