It began after I bought a new desk that was so wide and deep that I couldn't sit at it properly in my bedroom, and I had to sit at one end of it where my internet laptop is. The swivel chair that I bought is also not that comfortable. It could do with being a bit higher but my knees would be pressing against a steel support. So while often sitting here for twelve hours or more typing away my left leg went numb and I didn't stand up to alieve it. After this I found that I could sit there typing with no numbness occurring, it seemed to come and go, but I did have a throbbing pain in my upper leg near the groin, and that comes and goes as well.
I have wanted to tell my general practioner but she would have to inspect it and what would she be able to see? There is probably nothing there to look at because the injury is inside my leg. She doesn't have an email account so I can't even send it to her.
A quick search had told me that deep vein thrombosis, like what people got on planes when they were sitting in near-cramped conditions for long hours, often has a tender throbbing pain near the groin when there is a blood clot. So I guess that is what I have and I think that my gp should be informed.
