At the dog park, there's a hose that's connected to the city water that we use to fill the bowls. He'll wet his tongue when he's thirsty, but won't really drink it. I keep a gallon of filtered water in the car so when we get done, I give him a little bowl to drink and he drinks it up!
Even in the house, if I forget about the filtered water and just fill his water bowl with tap water, same thing, he won't drink it. Fussy bugger!

It's discerning not fussy!
The cats love to lick water droplets from grass, maybe it's extra sweet or something lol
I've tried giving them bottled water and Cat Milk too but outside water is their water of choice.

You are so right! They have discerning tastes.
You make a good point about the water droplets on the grass. I'm willing to bet it tastes very fresh, untainted by dirt or rocks.
If I could get my dog near a stream, I wonder if he would prefer that as well.
