I doubt I will ever vote Republican now that Roe v. Wade was overturned. I never have voted Republican, but I wasn't against it if the right candidate came along. That party is just too controlled by the dying Christian right. DeSantis seems like a loon… and an effective one.

Just curious, why? Roe v. Wade was a horrible decision. Whether you support baby slaughter or not is irrelevant, it was a poorly decided case based on nonsense and not within the Constitution.

I agree it wasn't a strong legal foundation for abortion to start with, but it was something, and voting Republican is just going to get us further away from where we need to be. At least right now it's left to the states – I don't want it to be even further restricted.
The reaction also showed me just how much the right capitulates to its tradcon base which is becoming more fringe. Voting for a Christian who makes religion the basis of their politics feels more and more like voting for a delusional person. -
