Painting vs Animation

I was trying to paint some unicorns, of a kit I got from Amazon.com. I could not get the eyeball down on the last unicorn I did. I was more of a drawer. So, I can draw something great and paint over it, but what? What next? More kiddy crafts, I guess. I did more crafts than art as a kid, and I was considered an artist, since I could draw so well.
