According to the book, disinfectant and a tetanus shot basically "kills" a vampire bite. Has this ever been mentioned in folklore, or are there other cures AFTER one gets bitten?

You know I never heard that anywhere else now that you mention it. The Doctor saves himself. Guess King came up with this idea himself

I think Fright Night returned the girlfriend back to life after the head Vampire was killed. Lost boys might have done the same thing, not sure.

As I understand the folklore, if the vampire is destroyed prior to the victim's death, the victim recovers. Remember the Bloofer Lady from Dracula? She was Lucy Westenra after she became un-dead, and after she had been destroyed, her victims (mostly children) all recovered. Also keep in mind van Helsing's attempts to treat Lucy prior to her death after the Count had bitten her.

Peter Cushing showed us the way in
              Brides of Dracula
. Self-cauterize with a red-hot iron (ouch!) and then sprinkle with holy water.
