The original,a tv film made by the BBC created a sensation,it was based on good research which showed that these people were not council estate yobs, they were mainly people in good jobs who used their money and brains to organise the pointless violence which was a stain on football in this period.
This new film will glorify the violence but won't show the hurt caused to the injured and their families. -

The remake is practically a scene-for-scene re-do and doesn't particularly offer anything new. We had a good performance of 'Bexy' but clearly not as good as Oldman's, everything felt 2nd rate. Including the ending in this which doesn't have as much impact.

Yup, almost a duplicate of the original with only half as good actors and extra swearing. It's also the only film I've ever seen where I've struggled to understand WTF half of the cock-e-knee characters are saying. Football Factory, no problem. Damned United, no problem. This needed frigging translating half the time!

The two are like completely different films to me. The hooligans are virtually different breeds and the focus is on different characters with a different story arc. I prefer this film to the original although the original is a great film in its own right.
