They only think she is a child and that she is their daughter.
She is smart, like knowing how a gun and a car work and how to do evil deeds, and yet she is not smart enough to figure out a different approach to seduction pretending to be their little girl?
Of course any dad is going to reject her unless he is a pedophile and that will be unlikely since an orphanage/adoption agency will only give her to law abiding parents.
This is the loophole of the movie.
