Funny I checked out that link and the majority of the Flash fan fiction section is full of Snowbarry stories, that website is the most popular for fan fiction according to top sites. Westallens think they are so popular huh? Why aren't they churning out stories for their deity couple?
Honestly, to hell with fan fiction. Am I supposed to care what fan fiction is more popular, or what gets written more? I have no problem with people writing it, but the fac that there are so many websites dedicated to it? Here's an idea. Create your own characters, situations, plot devices and settings, and make something - are you ready for this - original.
And I know changes are going to be made. I'm fine with change as it's an adaptation. But to throw hissy fits online the way I've seen some shippers do because their ships aren't going to be given credence? Whatever. -

I think Wells and Caitlin would be hot.
I think Iris is fine how she is. There is nothing wrong with being the girlfriend, daughter, sister, friend, with heroic qualities. The Flash is incapable of telling stories not centered around Barry for more than an episode or two, primarily because of there "We must have a meta every episode" philosophy.
What function does Joe really serve? He's a cop, but he can't take down any meta. Sure he has a great job title, but he's saved no more people than Iris. He saved Barry twice. Iris saved Caitlin.

It's important to get the protagonist's story right. In Smallville that means Clark/Lois. On the Flash, Barry/Iris. Arrow muffed it up and they still haven't got all their viewers back.

Barry will have a father-in-law that loves him, a brother-in-law that idolizes him, and a girl he has loved before his voice changed and he'll give that up for Caitlin.

There has always been chemistry between Barry and Caitlin, but the writers downplayed it heavily in Season 2, mainly teasing it with episodes like 1x12, 1x19, and this recent KF episode. But, yeah, it shows that they have tons more chemistry than Barry ever had with Iris, a combination of Caitlin being a stronger character, Panabaker's acting rising up in the Barry-Caitlin scenes, and Gustin's emotions feeling more genuine when Barry is with Caitlin than when he's trying too hard in the romantic scenes with Iris, to the point where they come across as awkward. But I love Cisco too much to have Iris pawned off on him. He deserves better than Barry's leftovers.

You know chemistry is subjective right? And how in the world were the writers teasing snowbarry in 1x12 and 1x19? 1x12 wasn't even a good episode for Caitlin cause she was written OOC.
Gustin's emotions feeling more genuine when Barry is with Caitlin than when he's trying too hard in the romantic scenes with Iris, to the point where they come across as awkward.
He deserves better than Barry's leftovers.
But Caitlin deserves Iris's left overs?

I'm genuinely curious as to how people could come to these conclusions. Especially of this particular poster whom I used to have long convos about on the subject of Barry's/Iris's relationship vs Barry's/Caitlin's relationship. I've noticed that since the beginning of this season their posts are tinged heavily with.bitterness, for lack of a better word. They're starting to sound like the usual SB crowd. I've been on this board since the beginning of the show, so I know who the baiters and trolls are and I don't engage them. What would be the point?

Pretty sure the level of retardation is reached just fine with you westallen shippers. Whoever ships snowbarry or whatever you call them at least don't act like bigots who can't hold a debate without taking everything so personally. Shipping is awful as is westallens are the paint sniffers that make Lana Lang's stans seems like angels that's saying a lot.
