What a difference a couple of months makes!
It used to be like this:
Whenever I'd start a thread on this board saying MOS was a lazy rehash of Superman II, or that MOS failed to fix the problems of Superman Returns and ended up with an even WORSE film, the MOS fanboys would show up in droves to angrily denounce the truth and sneer about how they're getting a sequel to their garbage movie
and that will teach all the haters a lesson.
Now, if you go on the Batman vs. Superman board, its a 180o degree change. You can start a thread and denounce the film all you want and not one MOS fanboy will show up to defend their precious widdle sequel. Every lofty prediction they made on this board for the last three years has been proven WRONG
, but they just ran for cover rather than have to face up to the facts and modestly apologize for the propaganda they spewed.
As another thread on the BS message board pointed out,
the fanboys are now as much to blame or MORE than Nolan/Synder/Goyer are for that abomination
. Had the MOS fanboys joined us in denouncing MOS for the disappointment and failure it was, instead of DEFENDING it tooth-and-nail and cheering on WB to give us more of the same, we wouldn't have gotten the horrible BS movie inflicted on us. At the very least, it wouldn't have been made in its current form. Most likely, MOS would have gone down in history like the failed 2001 Planet of the Apes remake, and we might have actually gotten a GOOD Superman movie that had nothing to do with Synder/Goyer/Terrio's vision for the DC universe.
But no, the fanboys choose to encourage and embolden WB to make this abomination, and
they refused to listen when we warned them that BS was going to suck
. We had been sounding the alarms for THREE years but it fell on deaf ears: Jesse Eisenberg is HORRIBLE casting for Lex Luthor and will ruin the movie, we told them. WB is insane to give Hack Synder the director's chair again because he can't direct any coherent narrative, we told them. Terrio can't magically make Goyer's garbage scenario into a decent, compelling story, we told them. Did they listen? NO! All they did was laugh and insult us.
Even worse,
the fanboys who did comment on the disastrous fallout from BS are in denial that the blame rests squarely on their shoulders.
They're even denying that WERE warned, REPEATEDLY, that this would happen: Nobody could have predicted the overwhelmingly negative reviews for BS, they claim. Nobody could have predicted that Civil War would outgross BS, they claim. All lies. We did predict this, over and over again! They didn't listen.
Fanboys, it is time to man up and take responsibility for YOUR actions.
YOU MUST ADMIT THAT THE MOS UNIVERSE IS A FAILURE AND THAT YOU SHOULD HAVE NEVER DEFENDED THE MOVIE OR ENCOURAGED NOLAN/SNYDER/GOYER TO DO IT AGAIN.
You CAN atone for your destructive actions
, if you join us now in killing the DCEU or whatever the heck they're calling it. You will be doing a public service. Stop deluding yourselves into thinking everyone who hated MOS was a Marveltard or can't accept anything new and any version of Superman not directed by Richard Donnor and any actor not named Christopher Reeve.
The truth is that many of us hated MOS and BS precisely BECAUSE we are DC fans, and we hate to see our favorite characters ruined. Furthermore, most of us would GLADLY be the first in line to see a GOOD Superman movie, a GOOD Batman movie, or a GOOD Justice League movie, with a new director and new actors in those roles, and would be the first to PRAISE such a film. We just know that will NEVER happen as long as Nolan/Snyder/Goyer are in charge of adapting DC properties. For Superman to live, the DCEU MUST die.
There is no shame in joining us to hate MOS. I myself was on the fanboy side during the 2009 Star Trek reboot, and defended the film against the naysayers who said it ruined the Star Trek universe. Since Star Trek Into Darkness, I have seen the error of my ways and have converted to the anti-JJverse side
. It is a huge sigh of relief to realize I no longer need to defend the JJverse and that I realized we can get GOOD Star Trek on TV without it. A great weight has been lifted from my shoulders. You must do the same with DC.
You must do only two things:- Apologize for defending the horrible turd MOS and everything that sprung from it.
- Join us in calling for WB to FIRE everyone involved in the DCEU and to hire a NEW team to start over from scratch.
If these two goals are met, Superman can be reborn someday. Let's make it happen!

Nolan helped birth this DCEU cinematic universe abomination. He PERSONALLY recommended most of the "talent" behind MOS (Goyer, Zimmer, etc.) to Warner Bros. for their "reboot", he proudly put his name on the film and funded it in his role as producer, and he co-wrote the worthless Superman II remake storyline with his pal Goyer. The MOS fanboys recommending the franchise be saved by putting Nolan in charge still don't GET it. Nolan is part of the problem. Just because he was good at doing solo Batman movies, doesn't mean he "gets" Superman or the rest of the DC universe. Superman should NOT be bleak, drab, humorless, ultra-serious, emo, and "dark & gritty"
MOS fanboys MUST accept that Nolan/Snyder/Goyer are responsible for ruining Superman and must be permanently banned from providing more "input" and kept as far away from the character as possible. -

Wrong about what? Personal taste isn't right or wrong. I loved the movie, you hated it. Neither one of us is right or wrong, it's just that we have different tastes. The fact you can't see this or acknowledge it just proves you have some growing up to do.

Mock my thread all you want, it won't change the FACT that more and more MOS fanboys are getting the courage to man up, ADMIT they were wrong, and convert to the MOS hater side. Here is just one thread posted today where a recovering MOS fanboy comes clean:

With this movie?
I admit I staunchly defended this movie but gave up once I removed my fanboy goggles and realize Snyder has completely ruined any future hope for the DCEU.
It's not fair the amount of pressure Ayer has with SS and Jenkins with WW.
Snyder killed off jimmy Olson, doomsday, death of superman story arc, Zod etc all in one movie. The more I reflect on it the more upset I get. This guy seems like he went out of his way to prove you can make a hated movie starring the most iconic heroes of all time.
terrible he thinks every DC character is batman. He's read the dark knight returns and thinks that's how all DC characters are. Sucks that we'll probably have to wait a good 15 years for another reboot to get a good superman.
Dozens of MOS fanboys have come forward to concede they were wrong and atone for their actions. Why can't MOS fanboys on THIS board do so? There is nothing shameful in admitting you were fooled by WB propaganda and erronously praised Nolan/Snyder/Goyer's garbage. -

You know what, I love this movie, what are you going to do about it?
I also like BVS. Is it right or wrong to like something?
At least they are movie different with a different take on the superhero genre.
I bet I have read more comics than you, does that make my opinion more valid than yours? -

I was never wrong, this was the Superman movie I'd been waiting for since the 70s. It makes the Christopher Reeve films look like the red headed step child. The best thing about those old films anyway was Lex Luther. BvS wasn't as good but Wonder Woman was great and it set up Justice League just fine. I love the direction they're going and look forward to more. You haters are hilarious. I like how MOS & BvS has made 1 billion 500 million total and people call them flops. The only people that seem like they hate this are snobby douchebags. All you have to do is read their posts. These threads sure make me laugh out loud though. By all means keep up the good work.

You cannot compare what they can do in movies today with what they could do 40 years ago. What they did with those first two movies was incredible for the time.
Wonder Woman was great
Yeah, you could really get that from all 16 words she said.
I like how MOS & BvS has made 1 billion 500 million total and people call them flops.
First off, they were supposed to make more. Secondly, they are the top dogs of the DC world. The characters in the MCU were derided as being the "B-Team", and they've made well beyond what anyone ever imagined they would. Hell, the success of The Avengers is what pushed DC to scrap the MOS sequel and rush into their "team" movies.
The "snobby douchebags" are actually the DC fanboys who call Marvel movies "kiddie" without ever actually seeing the movie and/or not being able to understand what is going on in the movies.
And, before you say it, I liked Superman 1 & 2, Batman and Batman Returns, Batman Begins and, after the second time watching it, MOS. -

AGAIN a great reminder on why we should never cut these bad movies slack. Hold the WB accountable.
