I've only seen a couple episodes of season 2 so far, but they feel a good bit slower paced than season 1; is that b/c season 2 is going to be twice as long, so they slowed the pace - or are they running out of material?

      I never noticed it.
Maybe you are just not into the mom storyline?

that could be; i expected from the season 1 cliffhanger for the mother to be menacing, and so far she has been anything but. It's been underwhelming to me.

I agree the beginning of S2 was a bit dragging as they establish the "Mum" storyline but it does pick up as the story shifts back to focus on Lucifer/Chloe. Just hang in there. It's worth it.

Glad you got caught up so fast. I just wanted to say I definitely don't think they're running out of material. If anything, it's like they've got more material than they can fit into a season. For that reason, I hope they get many more seasons. 🙂
And I agree that the introduction of Mom slowed things down. Whenever a new character is introduced, there's a kind of starting over phase where a lot of time that has to go to developing the new character and making it work with everybody else's established characters. Usually that's what season one is all about, getting to know the characters, then season two goes into really branching out from there, but Mom sort of took us back to step one for a bit. I'm glad she's not in so many scenes now. I like the actress, but a little Mom is plenty for me.
Damn right we're snowflakes! Winter is coming!
