Isn't that the actress from Disney?
Not available or convincing enough to play Scarlet Witch in X-Men movies.

Yeah she's an awful actress, maybe not the worst actress you could cast as the Scarlet Witch but certainly bottom of the barrel.

I don't see her as an awful actress but playing x-men's version of scarlet witch will be a lot harder. she is alright as the Disney version of the character.

The Fox-Men version would be easy since it wouldn't require any dialogue. Just have her stand in the background (behind Mystique or Magneto of course) waving her hands around once in a while.
Fox has such high standards. I'm sure they can find an actress just like they did with Alexandra Shipp and Olivia Munn. You know, really high class, Oscar-level actresses

She's an awful actress because she's in the MCU, Vegeta. If she was Wanda in a Fox movie then she would be one of the best actresses ever put on film.

Of course you would think that.
If she had been cast as Jean Grey or Scarlet Witch in an X-Men film instead prior to her involvement with the MCU, I'm sure you'd praise her acting ability

                  Guh, should have read further.
This dude probably thinks Robert Redford and Hugo Weaving are terrible actors.

Wow five posts of hot air, well done fellas you've taken your rhetoric to a new sub-level.
Elizabeth Olsen is a bad actress. I really can't see the casting directors for the X-Men movies making such a terrible mistake as casting her but it wouldn't be the end of the world so long as the role she was in was marginal. Someplace where she didn't have to do much in the way of acting and couldn't ruin scenes.
Her acting was so bad in
                      Godzilla
that it actually brought the movie down for me. That's an impressive level of crappy. I started to loathe every time she appeared on screen. I initially blamed Gareth Edwards (the director) a lot for it as it's up to the director to get a good performance out of his actors, but frankly I don't think the blame is largely his, she's simply stinky.
Now I don't know about her romantic films, I haven't seen any of them so she might be well suited to that type of acting, but in something dramatic she's an awful choice. Can you see her trying to be a lead actress in something? The horror! She does wear a dress well though. The way clothing hangs from her body is quite admirable.

She really wasn't in that much of Godzilla
And I have a counter for you on that: Sophie Turner.

Sophie uses an acting style called "Deadpan" which works well in many situations as it's subtle and underplayed and it's nuances are finely tuned. Unlike Elizabeth Olsen she's a real actress. If you pay attention to her visage you can tell what her next line is going to be before she says it, that's good acting. It doesn't work for every type of movie but for X-Men it's a good fit (for the most part). It's a good fit for anything dramatic.
It doesn't work for some people because they find her underwhelming. Maybe a little bit bland. But that is kind of the point, it's not suppose to be zany, or silly, it's a down-to-Earth and realistic dramatic style.
That all said, I do think they could have cast someone better than her as Jean Grey. I'll reserve judgment on that until I see her in one more movie, because I get the impression that she will be even more prominent in
                          X-Men 7
, and I'm looking forward to seeing what she can do given the centre stage, but I think there are probably a few actresses out there that would have fit the part a little better than Sophie Turner. However I will also add in her defence that she does have good chemistry with Tye Sheridan, which will be a big payoff in future movies as I have to imagine they'll be exploring the romance between Cyclops and Jean Grey.

Nope, because she wasn't acting deadpan in Barely Lethal. Also, deadpan doesn't work for Jean Grey. On the real, her Jean and Sansa is the same character.
And I knew you were going to make an excuse for her.

I'm not making excuses for her, she was perfectly serviceable in
                              X-Men Apocalypse
and I enjoyed her performance. She played the taciturn and conflicted Jean Grey very well, and as I said I'm looking forward to seeing more of her to come.

Godzilla was the star of that film. And Olsen was serviceable as a concerned wife/mother. Other than that, she wasn't really given much to work with. Blame the screenplay. Even Bryan Cranston suffered. If anyone, it was really Aaron Taylor Johnson that sunk the film in the acting department.
Olsen was actually praised for her acting in Martha Marcy May Marlene as well as her other dramatic work. You may want to check it out. Definitely not a "bottom of the barrel" actress as you put it. I think your opinion of her is somewhat influenced by your dislike of the MCU.
Similar to your opinion of Sophie Turner in these films, which is heavily biased because of your devotion to the franchise. In reality, she's very one-note based on what we've seen in her limited work (Game of Thrones being her primary claim to fame). She has a lot of growing to do as an actress.

Everyone was bad in Godzilla, except Bryan Cranston. You can't really blame Olsen, who has proven herself repeatedly on screen.
And X-Men movies haven't made bad casting decisions? How about two actors who share the last name Jones?

Given his inability to be objective towards these films, I'm sure he thinks Alexandra Shipp and Olivia Munn also gave worthy performances as well. To un-biased eyes though, they were nothing but bland, cardboard cut-outs. Jennifer Lawrence even phoned it in.

Olivia Munn was used exactly as she should be; minimally and with emphasis on her tits. Alexandra Shipp was good, she gave a strong performance and made Halle Berry look amateur in comparison; give the kid a break. Jennifer Lawrence gave a strong, understated performance, she was good too, she never missed a single beat and had great dynamics with all of the other characters, especially James McAvoy, Kodi Smit-McPhee and Evan Peters.
                                          To un-biased eyes though
Oh YOU'RE unbiased here are ya? You are?!
                                          That's hilarious dude, funny stuff.
