I really hope "Lighter" doesn't mean generic with jokes

A quick look at your post history shows that you're a Power Rangers fan so I guess I can see why Avengers was up your alley

While the Avengers plot is simplistic in its base nature it served the film perfectly for a blockbuster movie that was aimed squarely at family entertainment. You seem to think that light hearted films mean that they have to be kid friendly which possibly points more at your lack of maturity than anything else in fact I can list a lot of light hearted films that are most definitely not suited for kids.
So I have to ask would you prefer a competent story line that makes sense even if it is lighter in tone than say BvS. Or would you rather go with a darker tone and have a plot that is illogical, incoherent and insulting to the audiences intelligence like what we got with BvS?
One of the big issues with having the dark depressing tone in the DCEU is that it would suit characters like Batman and The Watchmen but it is ill suited for characters like Superman, Wonder Woman and Flash.
Still I do have to say that I would not like to see the DCEU go too light in tone either, it needs to find a happy medium and keep its own identity. I don't think anyone wants to see something that resembles the more light hearted MCU movies but with DC characters instead of Marvels.

It's not that I have a lack of maturity, it's just that Avengers' simplistic style just isn't really my cup of tea. That's why I hope JL doesn't use it as a blueprint.

I never said I wanted a "dark" tone. I just want a nice balance. I'm more saying don't go too far in the opposite direction.
Here's BvS
Here's JL
Here's Avengers
As for your story complaints, calling BvS (Ultimate Edition anyways) so illogical that's it's insulting to the audiences intelligence is most definitely an exaggeration. Certain plot elements weren't executed effectively, and Lex's plan was somewhat convoluted.. So to answer your question, I guess I'd prefer a movie that has more layers to it, even if it is somewhat flawed in it's execution.
I'll give you this, I don't want another BvS theatrical situation. If that's the version of the film you were referring to, then your comment makes more sense.
One of the big issues with having the dark depressing tone in the DCEU is that it would suit characters like Batman and The Watchmen but it is ill suited for characters like Superman, Wonder Woman and Flash.
I didn't find Man of Steel was depressing at all. I consider the tone of MoS to be "dramatic" with a little bit of darkness just given the whole genocide plot.
BvS was probably a little too serious I can admit that, but as Chris Terrio said, they had to bring Batman/Superman to a dark place to have them at odds with each other. That said, I'm not upset that they want to lighten JL up I just don't want them to go too far towards Avengers/A: Age of Ultron territory. Hope this clears things up.

Exactly!! We don't want everything to be the same, the Avengers movies obviously have their own AUDIENCE if you know what I'm saying. We don't need an exact duplicate. But yes, I wouldn't mind seeing Superman smile.
I've always said it would be nice to see WB strike that perfect balance between their movies and the lighter stuff.
To this day, I think Sony has done the best job at keeping that balance even though I have other issues with some of their Spider-man movies.
If I don't see Superman act cheery in JL, it will take my JL score down at least 2 pts. It's about time he's only been in 2 movies, so I'm giving them one more chance.

I don't think that we would want to see a jolly Superman but for someone who has so much going for him like incredible powers, good looks, perfect health, the woman he loves, good job a freaking ice castle and frequent flyer miles I fail to see what he has to be so miserable about. He needs to be a shining beacon of hope for humanity it was what his base character was always about. I do think that there is a bit of a style clash between Batman and Superman for me though. I want Batman dark and gritty and Superman to be a beacon of hope and trying to put those two contrasting styles into the same universe is going to be difficult.
Chris Terrio said, they had to bring Batman/Superman to a dark place to have them at odds with each other.
For me this is where a large part of the problem lies, they had to dumb Batman down so much in order for him to be so compliant in Lex plot that it just did not ring true to a character that is meant to be known as the best detective in the world. Still Batman fighting Superman was obviously something that lots of people wanted to see (myself included) you can see this in the pre-ticket sale figures.

For all my disappointment in BvS and especially with SS I know I will also be watching Justice League as soon as I get chance, I just hope this time they give me something I can enjoy a lot more but also I hope that it can keep the DC identity and feel to it.

I don't think he's miserabble aboout his powers. We see him laughing in Man of Ssteel when he flies. I can see what they wat were going for with the whole "weight of the world" approach.. makes sense but in BvS they needed to show us more than just Clark's struggles and they didn't do that. THey need a balance so its not tiring.
As for the Detective aspect of Batman, that's not really something I personally love aboout Battman so hiis lack of sleuthing against LexCorp didn't botheer me as he had his own philosophy for wanting to kill Superrman anyway and that seemed to be his main focus.
I had no issueswith Batman in the film, just Supes.

JL was always going to be lighter, I only hope that they keep it as light as they were originally going to, but no more. If you look at TDK trilogy, each movie had a different theme. BB was fear, TDK was chaos, and TDKR was pain.
It's been said that each of Zack Snyder's DC movies have an overall theme as well. MoS was birth, BvS was death, and JL will be rebirth. Which makes sense if you think about it. JL will see the rebirth of Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman and possibly Aquaman as well, either literally or metaphorically.
I just hope that WB stay out of it and leave the movies alone for the most part. If Zack Snyder makes a 3 hour R rated epic, then release it, but for the love of god don't butcher it.

I think they'll add some jokes here and there, but it's also more characters with their own personalities. For example in BvS WW was in a "lighter" place than where Bats and Supes were. And everyone is in a lighter place, but their core personalities will clash which should create humorous moments.
