If Stein would erase his daughter now, she wouldn't be there during the crisis and therefore not there to help with the chip thingy.
If the chip thingy doesn't happen, they either had to come up with another idea or lose the fight against the aliens.
And if they would have lost, then there would have been no Stein left to go back in time and erase his daughter.
So the only way the timeline would continue with them and without the daughter is if they have another plan to win.
Stein really should think this one through before erasing hs daughter

I know that.
What I was trying to say was that he doesnt really have a choice in that matter, even when he WOULD decide to erase her, he probably would make things worse with that.
