As others have said, one writer changing something doesn't carve it into stone. Diana left Themyscira at a young age originally and Steve Trevor was her first awakening of any sort of sexual feelings towards another. Silver Age changed things and that's when Diana was thousands of years old, though she still had contact with the outside world and many amazons remained chaste throughout that period. Wonder Woman and Superman spent 1000 years in another dimension with each other and nothing happened, they developed feelings for each other through war, but they also showed restraint over the 1000 years. In The New 52 Wonder Woman was 23 years old and the amazons regularly interacted with men as well.
There's been a big push to make many of these characters either gay or lesbian lately, including the supposed Ivy and Harley relationship, Catwoman, Midnighter, Batwoman and her rumored relationship with Supergirl, and now Wonder Woman. Why don't they just call everyone a hedonist and be done with it. It's the swingin' 60s all over again, man.

I feel like Midnighter's the only one of them that was gay from the start. Even with Kate Kane as Batwoman, she had to be differentiated from Kathy Kane.
A bisexual Wonder Woman sounds alright, but I do have to wonder at it with all signs pointing to sexual orientation being baked in: what if there was an Amazon that wasn't a lesbian but had no men around? Eh, Y: the Last Man had the boy-ladies in it as a solution, I guess.
The sexlessness of Wonder Woman has been a problem for a while. She's sexually represented, but not really "sexy." Or I should say "sexual." And the comics established that Hercules had a rape-fest so I guess she wouldn't have been a sexual character from that point in the more mature chapters of her history.
Why don't they just call everyone a hedonist and be done with it

What Rucka said was it was never an issue if Diana was close to other female characters that it was not a big deal at DC.
No one would stop or complain about it. That it was understood that Diana has always been bi.

It makes me smile that after all the claims of DC being mature and Marvel is apparently kiddie a lot of DC Fans throw their rattles out of the pram because Wonder Woman is apparently homosexual/bisexual. I have no idea how any of you could be surprised that she has had sexual intercourse with women, she has been trapped on an island surrounded by only women for how many year.

Why are you just assuming that there's a huge uproar about it? You want an uproar, you should have seen how Marvel fans reacted to the "Give Cap a Boyfriend" movement from several months back. Hell, people were spazzing out about Mary Jane possibly being played by Zendaya for a while (and yes, I'm bringing up Marvel in this case, because you were brining up them up first).
She wasn't actually "trapped" on the island though. She chose to live there for most of her life. -

Since leaving it, Wonder Woman has had relationships with New-52 Superman and Steve Trevor, both men.
The latest issue ends with a passionate kiss following a serious heart to heart between Diana and Steve.
