I guess I'm one of the few that enjoy a movie more focused on the build up of characters rather than cgi explosions. I found this movie pretty entertaining

        "Build up of characters."
The characters were sadly underdeveloped in this movie, especially when it came to exploring how they interact with each other.

              That's incorrect.

i just saw it this weekend and felt the same. It wasn't as bad as I had heard.
This was a "first installment, back story" movie. Next installment should be mostly action.

And I keep saying, you can't make your first movie all backstory. It's a dissatisfying way to tell a story. This is a movie, not the pilot of a TV show. You especially don't apparently kill off their major villain in that movie. They messed up big time on this movie and its at least $80 million box office loss is the price they paid for it.
I'd say no sensible studio would do a sequel to this movie after how it performed, but this is 20th Century Fox I don't think they'll do a sequel, but they might scramble to do another reboot in time to hang onto the rights.

Yeah. That makes total sense. Spend $100 million to make a movie that brings in $80 million so you can keep the rights, as opposed to giving the rights to Marvel, letting them put up the money to make the movie, and then taking 20% of the profits.

At this point, Fox should really just sign the rights back over. The Fantastic Four was one of Marvel's big properties, their actual flagship title for their superhero lineup in the 60s, with the comic having incredible artwork and some inventive storylines. Then the 90s came and the X-Men and Spider-Man became popular animated shows, and then again in the early 2000s with the movies, and in both cases, the FF's similar treatment was certainly not as well-done.
Now we have their name popping up when people are asking how bad the latest DC movie is.
What we see and what we seem are but a dream. A dream within a dream.

I agree, it's not the worst movie ever by a long shot. It finished up ok and Dr. Doom was kind of cool.
