I loved Michael Shannon's Zod. It's just a great performance.
His speeches where he lays out his philosophy are fantastic. I can see a lesser actor making them sound laughable but Shannon comes across as a thoroughly believable neo-con
He's an intelligent leader who is self-aware and is committed to the whole end justifies the means ethos. But he's a 3-dimensional character.
Why? I came into this game for the action, the excitement Listen, kid, we're all in it together.

I liked Man of Steel as a whole, and Shannon was definitely my favourite thing in the movie!

I could not agree more, a very memorable performance, I'm going to have to see the film again now.

Michael Shannon's Zod stomps every single villain in the MCU thus far. Marvel needs to take a page out of MoS going forward because getting one lame villain after another is downright frustrating at this point.
