LOGAN will be a better movie than Doctor Strange if…

There is so much more going for this movie than Deadpool, and it's Jackman's last go with the character. People love a good sob story, like Titanic, and TDK trilogy proved that people also love dark CBMs.
I respect your opinion but I think Logan will make $800 mil at least.

I honestly don't think this will gross more than Origins unless the critical response is through the roof. I think people are overestimating the care the general audience has for this being Jackman's last film as Wolverine. Seems only diehard fans of the films and comics care enough to see it just because of that.

Diehard fans of the films and comics are not the people a billion dollar studio cares about. Logan has the potential to be the most inventive comic film of 2017. From the Schindler's List inspired poster to the Outworld Western tone. Dr Strange is another MCU-Disney movie.
So far so good, the Logan trailer has gotten so much goodwill from the fans. It has been a hot topic on social media and other entertainment websites. Fox should capitalize on those factors and keep the momentum going. If they can do that, the film will be a big hit regardless of the critical response. Those were the special ingredients that made Deadpool and Suicide Squad very successful. -

The only thing people are talking about is the red band trailer with the claws through the head. Other than that it is the same as The Wolverine. Let's see Wolverine's healing factor is out of commission and is on the run with a young female and there is a dying old man from his past. Oh and he's living alone in the middle of nowhere after some tragedy, he caused, happened fairly recent.

There's nothing new here. The only thing people on this board are getting excited for is an R rating and violence.
Meanwhile, few people care about blood and guts. Few people actually WANT that if that's the only difference. We've already seen violent Wolverine. unless this is more stylized than previous movies, I'm not sure what will be different other than seeing blood and guts.
Yet people act like this will also making over $600 million? -

Wait until you see Dr Strange and you will finally see how old and repetitive MCU movies have become. The R Rating and violence is not the appeal of Logan. I love how they made Logan such a unique Marvel superhero film with a brutal, emotional, and serious Western tone unlike the usual formulaic Marvel films we have in the 2010s with slapstick dry humor, uninspiring plot, unrealistic colorful cinematography with the usual MCU lighthearted tone.

Dr Strange is the continuation of the Marvel-Disney formulaic movie clothing line. People like you keep fueling the Marvel flame wars. Doing it constantly is not going to affect the narrative of a potential future X-Men series that is not part of the MCU since X-Men doesn't fit in the MCU universe.
Logan is meant to be based on the Old Man Logan series. A comic book I guarantee you that MCU-Disney cannot adapt like other X-Men stories including a future Gambit movie, Cable vs Deadpool, and X-Force. All of which has nothing to do with Dr Strange. -

You must seriously hate James Bond, Star Trek, Dr Who, Star Wars, etc

Funny how NO ONE can ever justify how the X-Men cannot be in the MCU.

FOX won't do it either. And Old Man Logan is hardly "darker" than anything MCU has put out. -

X-men has been far more repetitive that you can actually predict what will happen in the movies. The same can be said about Logan. It looks like the same thing that happened in The Wolverine. Hell, it's looking like the same plot to the first X-men. Let's see, loner Logan meets up with a young girl and old(er) man needs his help. Come to find out that villains want him, but it's actually the girl they want. Wonder if the movie will end in a tall building.

The red band trailer was the R Rated trailer that only a few people saw.I dont know why someone made this thread to fuel the flames, but I have seen Dr Strange. The movie is an entertaining movie but it was the usual formulaic and forgettable MCU origins movie that reminded me of why X-Men does not fit in the MCU. Logan's western feel and shcindhers list tone has stuck with me more than Dr Strange. Logan could be the misplaced prequel to a Gambit movie.

The only real complaint people have over the X-Men being in the MCU is that Mutants would now exist alongside Magic and Aliens and stuff.
People who enjoy the FoX-Men movies are ashamed of actual comic books elements like that and dislike the idea they'd have to watch a movie where they're even mentioned. Mutants would no longer be the Belle of the Ball and they just can't stand that idea.
And for the record, Logan will wuss out and will just be more of the same from what we've seen of X-Men.
