the first few episodes were a bit uninteresting, but the beginning and the end were satisfying enough to reconcile first 1/3 of the series.
the music was great, the action was good but not as good as daredevil, the tension and suspense was good but not as good as jessica jones. -

whats unsatisfying about it? story arcs were closed, and opened the door for next season's characters and storylines.
diamondback was part of the story right from the start, he was shades' boss and cottonmouth's ally. next season or in defenders hes going to be powered like cage. -

I also thought the finale came across as rather unsatisfactory. The finale fight was very poor just to start off this conversation. Standing around, in a fist fight; no one with the bullets who can help wants to interfere? And the situation that devolved like that; keeping in mind this show is part of the Netflix series that wants to be gritty and more realistic? Even in Harlem I can't see people's reactions being that retarded. The whole affair dropped it off a peg for me.
It might have been something if the reveals they have for end end of the season were very much worth it. But I thought it was 50/50 coming in whether Mariah would get out of this to me coming into the finale. Now, she gets away. Big deal; meh? I expected them to press charges as Carl Lucas. In fact, I half expected it to happen many episodes before that, but it never did. Then it all comes up the episode before? I don't think it was something they would just drop at the end of the season and not do anything with it in the finale It was sort of interesting, but it was predictable.
Then there were 2 other things really in the episode, Candice got shot. Not shocking, but still pretty good, but wholly irrelevant to me at the same time. Now Luke was almost about to get it on with Claire? I never really wanted those two to get it off. She mainly just showed up in this show wanting to do more, seeking out superhero stuff. She stayed to fight the good fight, but I was never really sold anything other than shallow motivations. Then the half hookup at the end? Poor writing is my words for that. But w/e.

I definitely agree that the first few episodes went nowhere. I also think the season picked up when they finally introduced Diamondback. I was a little disappointed in the final fight, but at least it wasn't someone sided affair. Overall I think the show definitely got better when it started acting like a comic book show, and less like an urban drama.

I gotta agree with you there was a lot of stuff in the back half of the show that was just ridiculous. I thought it started slow got a lot stronger and then Episode 8 hit and boom the series just started to get worse and worse for me with things like
When Luke busts the computer they don't smash the Hard Drive this is 2016, you smash the hard drive!!! The Doctor could have just uploaded everything to cloud storage which would have made way more sense.
They only show Claire treating one wound.
Shades going free he was out on 2 million in bail and then he is a suspect in 3 murders because the guys that picked him up got killed. There is no way that shades would be free. People would be all over that guy trying to get some of the bail money and you know he would have to go to prison since there were like 15 witnesses to his kidnapping, and two attempted homicides on Claire and that of Detective Misty Knight.
Misty Knight not realizing she lost her phone at the Barbershop and you know going to get Candice a.s.a.p at least her boss gave her beep about it.
The ridiculous way that Diamondback tries to frame Luke Cage
Diamondback's suit with the giant visible battery pack that Luke doesn't smash.
I could go on the show was good but it was just disappointing I figured it would be better.
